The Insurance Accounting Manager is responsible for various accounting duties centered around consolidation, US GAAP accounting and reporting, and reinsurance administration. This includes completing monthly and quarterly close, reconciliations, monthly analysis, financial statement preparation and assisting with general corporate matters. You will get the chance to learn and create new processes and work with business partners to automate and improve processes while producing high quality financial information. You will also ensure effective and efficient interpretation, communication and implementation of corporate accounting and reporting policies while monitoring and implementing changes in accounting and regulatory reporting requirements, as appropriate.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting and/or finance
5+ years of experience in insurance accounting and reporting (Life & Annuity)
Experience with both STAT and GAAP reporting
Experience in reinsurance accounting preferred
Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Desire to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
Proficient in key PC software including Excel and Oracle (preferred)
Automation and process improvement experience
